This little gem is something that I have been eyeing up for a few years starting with the original Drobo when I read about it on Slashdot? These devices offer the convenience of raid (storage expansion and redundancy) without the hassle of raid (needing the same drives, manual rebuilding) and due to my large collection of materials needing safe archival I feel that this system would be a great starting point for safely backing up all of my materials.
